Board of Trustees

NOCA's Board of Trustees meets monthly during the school year. Meetings are open to the public. The current trustees, meeting schedule, agendas, and minutes all live on the Board page.

Nondiscrimination notice

Northwest Ohio Classical Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, sex, disability, or religion to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. NOCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, sex, disability, or religion in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, or other school-administered programs.

Anti-harassment & anti-bullying

NOCA maintains a written anti-harassment, anti-intimidation, and anti-bullying policy, in accordance with ORC 3313.666. The policy is published in the student and family handbook; the full policy is available on request.

Student records & FERPA

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), parents and eligible students have the right to inspect, review, and request amendments to the student's education records. Requests should be directed to the school office.

Special education & Child Find

NOCA locates, identifies, and evaluates all students with disabilities residing within its service area who are in need of special education and related services, in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Ohio Operating Standards.

Dyslexia screening

In accordance with ORC 3323.25, NOCA screens students for characteristics of dyslexia using a state-approved screening tool and supports identified students with appropriate intervention.

Third-grade reading guarantee

NOCA participates in Ohio's Third Grade Reading Guarantee (ORC 3313.608). Reading diagnostics are administered annually in grades K–3; results and intervention plans are shared with families.

Wellness policy

As a school participating in federal nutrition programs, NOCA maintains a wellness policy addressing nutrition, physical activity, and health education. The policy is reviewed periodically and available on request.

AHERA (asbestos) notice

In accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), a management plan for the school's facilities is maintained in the front office and available for inspection during normal business hours.

Public records requests

Request a record, at no cost.

Under the Ohio Public Records Act (ORC 149.43), NOCA promptly provides public records to any person for inspection during regular business hours, and will make copies available at cost. Requests need not be in writing and need not state a reason, though a written request helps us respond accurately. Certain records (student records, personnel records, and records protected by federal or state law) are not public.
