NOCA Athletics · Go Spartans

Body and mind. Both. Always.

Athletics at NOCA is part of how we form whole students — Kindergarten through twelfth grade. The youngest Spartans run, throw, jump, and play every day. By Upper School, our students compete interscholastically across three seasons under coaches who know their names.

Lower School · K–6

Where it begins.

Daily physical education and real recess — gym time, outdoor play, tag, Red Rover. The body learns at the same time the mind does, and a child who has moved is a child who can sit still. Lower School families also turn out in numbers for select club and developmental sports — soccer above all — depending on the year's roster.

Upper School · 7–12

Where it gets serious.

Upper School Spartans compete interscholastically across three seasons — they travel, they train, and they represent the school. A good classical education and a serious athletic life are not in tension; we take both seriously, and a student who forms their body forms their mind. See the Upper School page for how athletics fits the wider school day.

Every athlete needs a current physical and paperwork on file before tryouts — completed online through FinalForms.
