Single-tier medical coverage and employer-paid short-term disability are provided at no cost to you.
For full-time employees, the School pays 100% of the employee premium and 50% of dependent premiums.
For Instructional Aides, the School pays 100% of the employee premium and does not contribute toward dependent premiums — dependents may be covered, at the employee’s full cost.
Employees who elect the Base HSA Plan also receive a School contribution of $100/month toward their HSA.
Instructional Aides: the costs below are net of the
standard dependent subsidy, which does not apply to this role. Employee-only coverage is still at no
cost; for any tier that includes dependents, ask the office for your actual monthly cost before you
elect it.

Retirement mandatory, pre-tax
Participation in an Ohio public retirement system is required and replaces Social Security for your work at the School, so no Social Security tax is withheld from this pay. The School also contributes on your behalf.
- Licensed teaching staff (STRS Ohio): 14% employee contribution
- Non-teaching staff (SERS Ohio): 10% employee contribution
Short-Term Disability employer-paid
If a covered illness or injury keeps you from working (maternity included), short-term disability replaces 60% of your earnings, up to $1,000 per week, while you recover. The School pays the full premium.
Voluntary Life Insurance optional, 100% employee-paid
Add extra life insurance for yourself, your spouse, and your children at group rates, deducted per semi-monthly pay period. Coverage reduces 35% at age 65 and an additional 15% at age 70.
- You: $10,000 increments up to $500,000. No health questions up to $150,000 if elected within 31 days of eligibility (under age 70).
- Spouse: $5,000 increments up to $150,000 (no health questions up to $30,000). You must elect coverage on yourself to cover a spouse or child.
- Child(ren): $5,000 or $10,000, covering all eligible children, at $0.50 or $1.00 per pay.
